No fibre in your street?
Fixed LTE gets you online over the mobile network — connected within about 7 working days of your order. The SIM is linked to your address, unused data rolls over to the next month, and you'll need RICA documents: a certified copy of your ID and proof of address.
Already have an approved router? Go SIM-only. Otherwise pair your package with an LTE router from the shop.

Fibre Boyz orders a line from the fibre network operator in your suburb (Openserve, Frogfoot, Vumatel, Octotel and others), who lays fibre outside your property boundary. The operator then runs fibre from the boundary into your home and connects it to a Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) device — the make and model depends on the network. Fibre Boyz then installs a WAN-enabled Wi-Fi router — provided free of charge on selected fibre plans — to get you online.
No — fibre runs completely independently of a traditional voice (analogue or copper) line.
Fibre internet has two parts. First, the Fibre Network Operator (FNO) — names like Vumatel and Openserve — installs and owns the fibre optic cable in the ground; there is usually only one FNO in your area, if any. Second, the fibre ISP — that's Fibre Boyz — sells you a package through our relationship with the FNO in your area. You can't pick and choose the network, but you can pick and choose your ISP.
The fibre network operator (Openserve, Vumatel, Frogfoot or Octotel) sets the bulk of the pricing that the ISP passes on to you. That's why Fibre Boyz can have several different prices for the same speed, depending on which underlying network reaches your address.
Streaming in HD needs about 5 Mbps. A household of one or two people is comfortable on 10 Mbps; add 5–10 Mbps for each extra person, depending on your budget. Upgrading the speed later is easy.
It depends on the network operator in your area, but 3–10 working days is typical once your order is confirmed. We'll give you a specific timeline and confirm any minimum-term or installation-fee terms for your exact plan before you sign up.
Yes. Fibre is a dedicated physical connection; LTE and Wi-Fi share radio waves with everyone around you, so they're less consistent. Fibre also has no fair-use policy with us — no throttling, ever.
See the current tiers above — pricing depends on the fibre network operator that reaches your address.
Most of our plans include a fibre router free of charge. The connection also needs a Fibre ONT (Openserve, Frogfoot) or Fibre CPE (Vumatel) in addition to a Wi-Fi router with a WAN port — we supply both. You can also use your own Wi-Fi router if it has a WAN port; it may need reconfiguring.
ADSL runs over existing copper wire — often unreliable, heavily contended, and averaging around 4 Mbps. Fibre transmits light impulses along glass fibre at far higher speed, reaching up to 1 000 Mbps on some lines — around 250 times faster than ADSL.
